My hair is falling out
One by one
Follicles releasing
You see, it just couldn’t handle school
And strand by strand
My preconceptions are falling from my skull
I guess they thought it would be different here
They grew years and years
In eager anticipation
But when they got here they were surprised
Shocked, and a little confused
So they boycotted growing
And now they are jumping ship,
Leaving me to start from scratch
Perhaps they will all go, leaving me waiting,
Waiting for a new thought in my head
To learn to grow from
Thus far all I know is,
School’s not what they expected
It’s not what I expected either
Perhaps all I have really learned
Is why it is a mistake to expect
And not just experience
In case I should ever forget
I will have a new head of hair
To prove it
